Session 4 - Dwarven Monestary

Moonday Rova 9

Wanting to consecrate the altar of Lamashtu as well as the room, they enlisted the aid of Father Zantus. Budwar and Preacher kept watch over him while he did the ceremony.

Meanwhile Phain and Zantumal visited Quintus in town, an old man who was an expert in Thassilonian history, the empire that ruled the area 10,000 years ago. Quintus confirmed the writings were from Thallisonia as well as the statue was of the Runelord Azlanist. He also identified the 7 pointed star symbol as both a symbol of the 7 runelords as well as their 7 schools of magic. Each Runelord was a specialist in a school of magic, and each school had a connection to the seven virutes of rule. Over time these virutes turned into sins. The sins were Envy, Sloth, Lust, wrath, pride, gluttony, and greed.

After spending most of the day doing these tasks, the party retired back to their room. Later that night, Shayless Vinder, Phain's fiancee since that time in her basement, appeared and wanted to solidify their engagement. Phain complied, twice.

Toilday Rova 10

Heading back to the cathedral to dispose of some Lamashtu books found in the cathedral, they were interrupted by a lumberjack with some dire news. Delek Viskanta, another lumberjack, was taken by a band of kobolds. Phain heard one of the cathedral's workers startled at that and asked why she reacted that way. Apparently Delek had gotten Nualia pregnant 5 years before and left before she had a baby. Father Tobyn had kept it a secret, but she was one of the midwives when she did birth the baby. It had come early and had been monstrously deformed. It had died and been burned. Thats when Nualia fell into a coma and soon after supposedly died in the fire without ever waking. Delek had returned some time after that and stayed in the area working with the jumberjacks.

So the party mounted up and headed out to the lumberjack camp. There Shalelu was waiting for them. She let them know that the local Mosswood goblins had moved out of their lair and moved to Thistletop with the other goblin tribes. Kobolds had strangely moved in, and attacked the lumberjack camp. When they came, it appeared they were almost looking for Delek.

Xantumal retrieved a piece of clothing of Delek's and Hogie followed his trail to an old abandoned dwarven monestary. As they explored the ruined monestary, they discovered it had once belonged to Torag, and even found a Ring of Torag, a special magical item that protects from fire. It appeared that followers of Droskar, and evil dwarven deity, had taken over the monestary at some point.

At the back of the monestary they discovered a talking worg. Budwar, discovering it was evil he attacked it and with the party's help disposed of the foul beast. They discovered stairs leading down underneath the monestary.

Having a little more to explore, they found an abandoned shrine to Torag. Unfortunately two creatures in magical darkness dropped from the ceiling on top of Zantumal and Hogie's head. Phain had found a wand of light earlier and dispelled the darkness while the others helped kill the creatures.

There was one more room to explore and in it was a kobold hiding under some beds. After it took a hit from Budwar, it tried to escape out of a hole in the wall, but Budwar smashed it again until it was near death. They tied it up and Preacher stabilized and healed the creature but the party found out it ddin't speak a language they knew. They decided to rest, and Preacher would cast a spell so he could converse with the kobold. Then after gaining some intel, they would descend into the depths, hoping Delek was still alive
