Wealday Rova 11 - Around 2AM
After finishing off the kobolds, the group decided to investigate a natural tunnel in the previous room. As they moved down the tunnel, it started to get more smokey and hot. From out of the smoke a hellhound appeared and attacked. Budwar invoked Torag and smote the foul beast. As the continued down the hallway the smoke got worse and they were attacked by a dwarven figure wrapped in chains. On those chains were faces that were silently screaming. One of the chains wrapped around Phain while the creature attacked Budwar. With a combined effort they slew their undead foe before Phain succumbed to the constricting of the chain. Budwar took the adamantine hammer as a weapon and used it to destroy the horrid chain.
They also found a crevasse that they believed lead them closer to their goal of rescuing Delek from being sacrificed. Unfortunately Xantumal slipped when trying to climb and fell to the ground below. A dire bat swooped out and attacked him while a gargoyle also appeared. After Preacher and Budwar also fell down when attempting to climb down, the beaten up party managed to kill off both the Bat and the gargoyle.
They climb back up the rope Phain threw down and checked out one more room in the upper level. It appeared to be a barracks of some sort. When checking the beds, 5 stirges swooped down and attached themselves. When they were done swatting the pesky stirges, they were tired, beat up and low on blood so they decided to rest.

The party decided to continue in the lower levels to find Delek and then they could return to clear out the rest of the creatures. After almost everyone falling down when climbing down the crevasse, they decided to take the elevator they found previously. It appeared to be able to hold two people at a time, but when they started to lower it, it broke apart. Preacher managed to grab ahold of something to stop from falling, but Budwar fell about 30 feet. Waiting for him down below were over a dozen kobolds. Outnumbered, but heavily armored and wielding "Glintaxe"'s items, the kobolds were unable to take advantage. Preacher decided to leap down to help. Phain take out his trusty rope and climbed down, while Xantumal rigged up a way to carry his wolf down moments later.
The group were killing off the kobolds, but two leader kobolds in the back, shouted down the hallway for reinforcements. Phain revealed that he had a knack for learning languages and had picked up how to speak their language since being there. Since he understood them, he positioned himself to attack the two leaders. He took out one, but the kobold were using a centipede poison that was slowing Phain down. Also more kobold were coming down the tunnels. Fortunately though, the original kobolds were thinned out and the rest of the group had come over to help. Unfortunately, one bigger kobold who came down one of the tunnels hit Hogie with a devastating blow knocking the wolf unconscious. This kobold was no match for the group as a whole and soon went down to their attacks.
After Preacher and Budwar helped heal Hogie and the rest of the group, they pushed onward. The came to a cavern that was being mined, then found a second cavern that had another bigger kobold and two frog like creatures. The party was taking no chances after the pick weilding kobold who took out Hogie, and quickly dispatched the kobold in this area.
Moving on they came to an intersection in the tunnels and chose to go right. They came to a dead end where the tunnel was collapsed. Two dead kobolds with no signs of injury were here along with something written in the kobold's language. Phain translated it saying it said "“Darky-dark below, and whispers soft and low. Evil lurks, its lip less mouth smirks. Do not go! Only death below!” After that 3 shadowy figures came out of the rock and attacked! Preacher channeled holy energy causing damage to the three shadows and making one flee. Avoiding the touch of the the creatures, the group managed to "kill" off the shadows.
To be continued....
